Decision-making is fundamental to effective governance but decades of research reveals that people -- regardless of age, gender, education, or geography -- routinely make less than optimal decisions, even when presented with solid information. Why is that?

It turns out that as people, we are prone to a number of human tendencies – “bandwagoning” for example – that undermine effective decision-making. What does the research suggest for dealing with these challenges? What strategies can boards use to enhance their business decisions?
