With input from credit unions and centrals, the Canadian Credit Union Association (CCUA) is drafting a voluntary national Market/Consumer Code of Conduct for the credit union sector. That code is fashioned on a similar code that has been in place in Saskatchewan for more than a decade, but is being adapted to meet emerging policy and, potentially, regulatory demands of governments.
What is this Market Conduct Code? What does it look like? Why do credit unions need this when they already protect their members? How will it affect you as a director and your credit union?
