Event Description
This 1-day Booker & Associates course supplements the material covered in the introductory CUDA® course titled Risk Oversight. It hones in on the concept that as risk-taking businesses, credit unions make money by taking risk and can lose it by not managing the risk. As a director, you have a responsibility to govern that risk taking and manage the risk as a steward of the safety of members’ deposits and the reputation of the credit union.
This engaging full-day course combines the content of two half-day courses: Governing Market Risk and Governing Operational Risk. As such, you will discuss liquidity risk, interest rate risk, credit risk and the broad area of operational risk both as discrete topics and then in relationship to their impact on capital. When you leave this session, you will have a deeper understanding of these areas of risk and the expectations for you, as a director, for governing them.
